Disney Parks Stroller Rental

One of the best tips from my super-Disney Savvy aunts was to rent a stroller for the kids, who were 6 and 4 at the time.

There is a fee to rent the strollers from Disney but when you rent at least you don’t have to worry about someone stealing your expensive stroller or getting the stroller to and from the parks.

As you know, there is a lot of walking involved with the Magic. If you can swing it, rent a stroller. We did two single strollers instead of double stroller to eliminate fighting and because it is easier to maneuver single strollers than a massive doubler.

I thought Eli (6) would be offended by the stroller but he welcomed him as his legs tired very quickly at the parks.

The Key to the Castle

The modern key to Cinderella’s Castle anyway…very few people ever get to visit the Castle. Yes, I’m bragging – I actually stayed in Cindy’s Castle Suite!

Save on Disney Souvenirs

Disney has so many unique and fun souvenirs. We always like to get a something to remember our trip but we don’t want to spend a ton either. When we visited Disney back in 2010 for the first time, we knew several months in advance that we were going. At Christmas time, when grandma asked what the kids wanted, I told her that Disney gift cards would be great. This is a great way to budget for each child so it’s “fair” during the trip. Each child had $25 on their gift card and knew this was the amount they had to spend at the parks on souvenir items.

If you want to really save, you can head to one of the Disney Character Outlets to save a significant amount of money on your souvenirs and gifts. This past spring break we visited Orlando but didn’t visit Disney. We made a stop at the Disney Character Outlets and found some great deals. One of the best steals I found was this leather Cinderella bag which was 80% off the retail price. Sofia also wanted some things that had 2011 on them like a scrapbook – just $1.99!

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival #DisneySMmoms

One of my favorite parts of Disney is the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. This runs from March through May every year. It is so beautiful and makes for so many great photo opportunities.

You will find topiaries of your favorite characters!

The kids had a blast in the Fairy Garden, where they were able to do a little scavenger hunt for sticker prizes!

You can see more pictures from the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival here:

Disney Foods for Vegetarians

As a vegetarian, I was a bit worried about what I would eat at Disney World. However, my fears were unfounded. Every place we went there were plenty of choices for me and wide variety of things to eat.

This was a Eggplant sandwich and delicious sweet potato fries:

Tofu and mushrooms on a tortilla

Delicious breakfast at Cinderella’s Castle:

There are many options. You can see most of the menus online. If you are making reservations, you will want to let them know your dietary needs ahead of time. Disney does a great job of trying to cater to all dietary needs.

Disney Social Media Moms Celebration 2011 Welcome Party

After we landed safely in Orlando, we hopped the Disney Magical Express for our ride to the resort. We checked in at the Grand Floridian Hotel without a hitch and headed off to our first evening at the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. As you can see, the humidity in Florida does quite a number on my hair!

Unfortunately, we missed the Disney Wedding Celebration and discussion. Lucky for Sofia, my blogging friend, Andrea, gave her Minnie Mouse Wedding ears to her. Not the best picture of my cute little girl as she was eating when I took this picture.

The kids had fun playing the games!

Yummmm……cotton candy!

Sofia is terrified of costumed characters so it was just me and Eli who took pictures with the characters.

The food looked so pretty.
