Cheerleading

Sofia Cheer

I wasn’t for Cheerleading.

But little girl hadn’t “played” any sports since baseball. She was feeling left out.

The cheer schedule was easy. Most practices were during Club hours. The games were every Saturday at 10:45 a.m. Easy!

She had so much fun and was the loudest of all the cheerleaders!

Sofia + High Heels = I Don’t Think So

Sofia, who was five years old in this picture, is desperately wanting a pair of high heels. Of course, she thinks these size 9 women’s high heel boots fit her perfectly and would be great for school.

This mom thinks NOT!

Hi, Uncle Billie

It has been several months but the pain is still there. The questions from the kids are still there. The sadness is still there. It’s a little farther under the surface but it is still there every day.

Often, Eli is the one who mentions randomly how much he misses Uncle Billie and wishes he didn’t die.  Sofia said that Uncle Billie is the one who always protected her from my parent’s dogs. He would chuckle at her absurd fear as he held her up far away from the slobbering dogs. He was a huge part of their lives.

Sometimes I forget where I’m at and drive by his grave site.  The first time I did Eli rolled down his window and yelled “Hi, Uncle Billie,” out the window. Sofia, of course, chimed in. It wasn’t their usually rowdiness but more of a stoic “Hi.”

Of course, this made me bawl. If I didn’t cry anymore, I would wonder what was wrong with me!

This irony in this is my brother (Uncle Billie) would often drive by our Grandpa Bill’s grave, also his namesake, and honk and yell “Hi, Grandpa.”

All the Kids Are in School!

It’s that time of year…back to school time! It’s time for parents to breathe a sign of relief or cry. Whatever suits you best!

Of course, the day would NOT be complete without a little friendly teasing from your older brothers…which caused this…

Which I was able to turn into this…

They didn’t even look back…

How a Cupcake Can Reduce You to Tears

Sofia helped my Aunt Beth bake and decorate cupcakes recently.

Sofia told her she wished she could share her cupcakes with Uncle Billie.

That is how cupcakes can reduce a person to tears.

I wish your sweet Sofia could share her cupcakes with you too Sugar Pants (Sofia’s affectionate nickname for Uncle Billie.)

This is the same girl who farts, burps, and throws a mean punch?

I look like an Alien

Sofia is just getting into drawing people. Here’s how she depicts our family.

Sofia Art Work

No arms. Just heads and legs. Apparently, my head looks like an Alien head. Plus, she giggled and gave me a nose on my forehead.

Daddy has special hair.

There is a few extra people in there. Apparently, she wants a baby in the house.

Uh, sorry, that isn’t happening.

We had some good laughs over this family portrait.

Sofia's Nails

Sofia’s Nails, originally uploaded by bargainbri.

For some odd reason, I took Fifi along with me to get my nails and toes done. While, we were their the lady asked if she wanted her nails done. Of course, she did!

She sat so still. I really don’t think I’ve ever seen her sit that still. She loved the finished flowers on her nails.

However, it didn’t take long for the polish to wear off especially on her two favorite fingers!
